I had a mammogram done on Oct 23, 2017. The technician that worked with me was wonderful. She was very friendly and professional. This made it easy to have this procedure.
My husband and I participated in the weekend intensive prenatal class and loved it. We would have preferred to take the 6 week course to break up the time and days, but our calendars didn't allow it. We still wish we could have taken the longer course instead so we didn't have to cram everything into one weekend. However, the weekend intensive was still incredibly helpful and it was awesome to attend a class in the hospital we will be delivering at. The chairs in the classroom are not super comfortable, so definitely bring pillows/chairs that you prefer. They offered iced drinks and some snacks which was so helpful when you needed a quick pick-me-up. Tawna was an incredible teacher and has a ton of knowledge. She was easy to relate to and gave lots of insight into each possibility. My favorite part of the class was going on the hospital tour. It really helped my perspective in what I can expect and the options I have during labor. The delivery rooms are incredibly high-tech and I appreciated seeing the possibilities. During the lecture time, they showed a couple of videos of medicated vs. non-medicated births (which was helpful to see-unless you are on the queasy side), but the videos need to be updated a few decades. I am grateful we took this class and it helped me feel more prepared to give birth, which is been something I've always felt pretty terrified about! I'm finally excited for my upcoming delivery and the staff at St. Marks has been so great to work with!
This was my 4th mammogram at St. Mark's Women's Center. I'm religious about going every year since I turned 40 because of my family history with breast cancer. Each time I've had a great experience with the friendly staff (Renae was my last nurse performing the screening). They're efficient, calling me up just as I'm settling into a magazine article, and I'm usually in and out of there within 40 minutes. I appreciate how knowledgeable and friendly they are to me. See you next October!
This is the first time I have gone to St. Marks hospital for my mammogram. It was a very pleasant experience! From when I first walked in the front door, I was greeted by a very nice lady who instructed me what to do and where to go. Then it was only moments of a wait till a nice lady named Amanda helped to take my information and took me to the dressing room. It was only about 4 minutes till I was called back for the exam. My tech's name was Liz. She explained everything that would be happening to me and was very professional with the exam. I was worried about changing places to have this yearly thing done, but after going to St. Marks and having the professional, caring staff help me through it . I can say that it was a very good experience!
I was required to have a biopsy after my mammogram and I am so grateful for the kindness and professionalism of all involved. Particularly, I'd like to give a shout-out to the "Navigator Nurse" Laurie (sp?) who took time to explain the biopsy procedure and then worked through her lunch trying to get a hold of my Dr. so I could have the biopsy completed while I was still in town. I appreciate her calm, kind and tenacious demeanor during a stressful time for me. I wouldn't go any other place!!!
